Animal Cruelty

Our definition question is 'What is animal cruelty ?'
Animal cruelty is when a human harms an animal in any physical way ! (S.E)
Our Background Questions Are ?

• Why does it happen?
• Who does it ?
• Who is trying to prevent it?
• What types of animal abuse are there?
• Which countries are the worse?

ANSWERS

Who does it ?
Normal , everyday people some reasons they do it are like when they are stressed or
angry because something happened or the animal hasnt listened but no exscuse
gives them the right to harm an animal because animals have rights and feelings to.

Why does it happen ?
Animal cruelty happens when either somebody is angry or stressed out or because
the animal has disobeyed the owner it also occurs when people have no passion for animals.
It also happens in animal testing factories where
innocent animals are strapped down to a table or a chair and are injected with our eyeliner ,
shampoo , bodywash , mascara and other products is that fair ? I think not.
They have to live in tiny cages and are feed so little . And never get any T.L.C how cruel is that.
I dont think that you would like being in that situation?

Who is trying to prevent it ?
Well alot of organisations such as the S.P.C.A,W.S.P.A,Green Peace
and other protesters that are very pashionate about animals and also just
normal people who love thier animals!

What types of animal abuse are there ?
Neglect Not feeding and ignoring your animals.
Physical Hitting or Kicking your animals.
Verbal Yelling or swearing at your animals.
Some other things that involve animal cruelty are . . .
Dog Fights, Animal Testing , Bull Fights (ext)

What countries are worse?
Lots of countries do animal cruelty but some of them are really bad !
Canada, because of there new sport called "Seal Whacking "
China , becuse of the way they treat animals, such as having wild birds for pets and keeping them in tiny cages.
U.S.A , because the way they treat and look after animals such as dog fights.
Europe , because of there testing , just in Europe 38,000 animals just die from cosmetic animal testing.
These are just some but there are HEAPS more.

Ideas We Have Come Up With !
We eventually got to the S.P.C.A and learnt the process that stray and abondened cats and dogs have to go through and I can assure you now it's pretty harsh. But they do it to keep the animals happy and safe ! =]

1. Go visit the S.P.C.A
2. Adopt a pet
3. Put an adoption notice in our school newsletter
4. Put S.P.C.A adotion posters around the school
5. Do volunteer hours at the S.P.C.A on a friday in 2nd block
6. Ask the S.P.C.A what we could do to help them
7. Have a mufti day to raise money for the S.P.C.A
